60 Indigenous Businesses take part in Yarpa Meet the Buyer 2022

Over 60 Indigenous businesses took part in Yarpa’s annual Meet the Buyer Strategic Matching event held at Parramatta Commbank Stadium.

To coincide with Indigenous Business Month, the event was an opportunity for Indigenous businesses to pitch their services or products to 23 potential corporate and government buyers.

Yarpa Director, Westley Trist said, “Yarpa Meet the Buyer is our signature event. It’s where we get to see our businesses shine and really connect with the buyers we have in the room. It’s important to the sector that we can facilitate an event like this.”

Attending Indigenous businesses took part in a number of 15-minute face to face meetings with matched buyers, giving them an opportunity to share what makes them unique.

“That 15 minutes that each business gets with their matched buyer could potentially be the first step in a growing business partnership.”

This is the 4th year that Yarpa has hosted the Meet the Buyer.

This year, two Indigenous businesses, NPM Indigenous and Eather Group, were also there as buyers.

Indigenous business, Eather Group said, “We have enjoyed Yarpa NSW Indigenous Business & Employment Hub‘s Meet the Buyer events since becoming Yarpa members, and for the first time, attended both as a supplier and as a buyer! We connected with both clients and other Indigenous businesses and are so excited for the collaborations to come.”

In the room were Indigenous businesses from various industries including art, plumbing, construction, information technology, communications and media, surveying and more.

Bert Gajewski from Indigenous Business, SupplyAus Holdings, said, “A huge thank you to everyone at YARPA for the awesome ‘meet the buyer’ event. Apart from the great venue, the content of the day, the structure and organisation were top class. I now look forward to following up on all the business leads and sharing the outcomes with you.”
