Many Rivers Workshop a Success!

Yarpa Indigenous Business Hub in partnership with Many Rivers ran it’s first Introduction to Business workshop for Indigenous Business owners in Western Sydney.

The one day workshop was an opportunity for those that have a business idea, or are in the early stages of their business, to meet with business coaches to gain an understanding of what is involved in starting and running a business.

The workshop covered business basics, such as marketing and managing finances.

Andrew Johnson, a Principal trainer for Pindara Training services, said the workshop was full of practical tips to expand his business.

“The company has been running for about two years and I just wanted to get a bit of a grounding on the business practice side of things.”

“The workshop was amazing. The information was really clearly presented and there was a great opportunity to chat with other Indigenous businesses as well.”

Johnson said it was the style of workshop that kept him engaged.

“It wasn’t just a lecture style training it was an opportunity to discuss with people who were in similar stages of business and It helped hugely. It’s given me really concrete steps that I can do now to help my business continue to grow.”

Johnson plans to attend more of Yarpa Hub’s business training workshops and urges others to join him.

“I absolutely recommend it to anybody and not just those starting out in business but those that are still in that growth phase because it’s really valuable.”
