1. Time management:

Employers have to trust that you can manage your time and get your work done without anyone looking over your work. Time management is one skill that you definitely need to include on your resume! This means being able to juggle various projects or ideas at the one time and knowing how to prioritise and delegate.

2. Team work:

Even though you may love to work solo, managers like to know that if they did have a project where you may need to work with someone else that they can trust that you can get the work done.  Being able to work in a team will not only be a benefit to your team, but the organisation as a whole.

3. Adaptability

In 2020 we’re working in an ever-changing environment and being able to adapt is a skill that most employers need you to have. They need to be able to trust that you could adapt to any type of situation.  This could include examples like using new technology or working with new team members and new systems. Whatever the situation, adaptability is a significant tool to have.

4. Interpersonal Skills

The ability to get along with those around you is more valuable than ever. Being able to communicate effectively with your managers and your team members makes you more efficient and a valuable employee.

5. Creativity

The ability to come up with new ideas and a new angle to a certain project or system will make you a valuable asset to the organisations. Managers love someone that brings them a fresh take on any project.

6. Problem Solving

Being able to come up with a solution may mean that you will get better results in any organisation. Adaptive thinking allows you to take an issue and and find a solution. Managers may like to see an example of where you have come up against a problem and what solution you found to fix it.

7. Customer Skills

Customer service is an essential part of keeping your clients and customers happy. This means that you’re able to deliver a good standard of service to the clients/customers that you’re serving.

8. Computer Skills 

Digital media – anything that is now online, is a huge part of society and whether we like it or not, it’s so important that we are up to date with the latest computer skills that are necessary to do your job successfully. Managers are always on the lookout for someone who is capable of using any digital devices without any assistance.

9. Management Skills

Having good management skills means not only being able to communicate and motivate, but it’s also good to be able to provide and receive feedback.

10. Communications skills

Whether oral or written, communication skills is a desirable skill that most organisations expect you to have to complete your job successfully.
