The NSW Aboriginal Land Council and the Yarpa Hub are thrilled to announce its new partnership with leading Australian multi-disciplinary construction company, BESIX Watpac. 

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) took place on Friday the 5^th of March, 2021 at the Besix Watpac office in Sydney CBDNSW.

The strategic partnership aims to strengthen the existing relationship between the Yarpa Hub and Besix Watpac and contribute to the growth of the Indigenous business sector. 

NSW Aboriginal Land Council Chief Executive Officer, James Christian said, 

“I am very pleased to add Besix Watpac to our list of esteemed partners. We’re connecting with a world class construction company that is continually striving to strengthen their commitment to Indigenous participation in all aspects of their company.”  

BESIX Watpac’s Chief Development Officer Mary-Jane Bellotti said this partnership means more than just fulfilling their commitment to Indigenous participation growth. 

“This is really exciting for us because we see this as not just a duty, but an opportunity. By increasing our cultural awareness and actively engaging with Indigenous owned enterprises, we grow the pool of talented people we have available to advance our business and working with the Yarpa Hub will help us do that.” 

Yarpa Director, Ricky Walford, is looking forward to seeing where this relationship can flourish. 

“We’ve had the opportunity to work with BESIX Watpac previously through our Meet the Buyer event and information sessions and this is really exciting for us to be making our business relationship official in order to reach further outcomes for Indigenous businesses at the Hub.”

The MOU sets parameters for engagement, discussion and collaboration between BESIX Watpac, NSW Aboriginal Land Council and the Yarpa Hub.

An executive from BESIX Watpac and the Land Council will meet quarterly to discuss strategic outcomes for Indigenous businesses.
