Yarpa Newsletter – April 2024

A Word From Our Acting Director

SHANNON MALLISON

Dear Yarpa Community,

It is great to reconnect with you all through our April newsletter, reflecting on the strides we’ve taken as a team since our last update. Our journey over the past months has been marked by purposeful engagement and expansion, both in terms of our reach and our internal growth.

We have kicked off our Yarpa Pop-ups across Regional NSW, starting in Dubbo. Our pop-ups are in alignment with Gather and Grow events hosted by NSW Treasury and Regional NSW. At Yarpa, we embrace the focus of these events to support the growth of the First Nations business sector by bringing stakeholders together to make meaningful connections.

While in Dubbo we hosted the first of seven workshops to be delivered by our team on Developing a Capability Statement. We had the privilege of connecting with local business owners and members, offering workshops and tailored business coaching. As a team we continue to demonstrate our commitment to supporting the growth of First Nations businesses and regional communities across NSW.

In addition to our engagement efforts, we have been busy welcoming new faces and skill sets into our team. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking passionate individuals to join us on our mission, so check out our available positions below.

As we venture further into 2024, we carry forward the spirit of collaboration and purpose that defines us, knowing that collectively, there are no limits to what we will achieve.

Warm Regards,
Shannon Mallison.

Yarpa Pop-up - Dubbo Recap

COMMITTED TO REGIONAL NSW

Shannon, Jes and Wayne eagerly made their way to Dubbo, kicking off the first of our Yarpa Regional Pop Ups. Aligned with our vision, the Gather and Grow event provided a platform for meaningful interactions with local members, businesses, and industry stakeholders. We engaged in insightful discussions and forged invaluable connections. A warm thanks to NSW Treasury & Regional NSW for hosting us and for their support.

We were excited to run our Yarpa Workshop on “How to Develop a Capability Statement.” The workshop armed attendees with the essential tools to craft an effective capability statement. In addition to the workshop, we offered personalised business coaching sessions, providing one-on-one consultations with our experienced coaches.

To all the attendees and businesses who joined us, thank you for investing in your growth and for embracing the opportunity to strengthen your business. Your enthusiasm and dedication inspire us to continue our mission of supporting and empowering First Nation businesses across regional NSW.

As we reflect on our Dubbo Pop Up, we eagerly anticipate rolling out similar workshops in other regions in the months to come and connecting with you.
