Yarpa Grow Intake 3 Participants Graduate

Indigenous business participants for Intake 3 of our Yarpa Grow program have graduated.

The graduation was hosted at the Yarpa Hub in Liverpool, Sydney, where they got the opportunity to present their businesses to a room of industry partners.

Yarpa Grow was a ten-week intense business growth program developed and run in collaboration with our partners at KPMG Australia

This was the third successful intake graduation of the program.

Aboriginal business and program participant, Sarah Richards from Marrawuy Journeys said, “11 weeks, it went so quickly. It’s been really great to connect with the other businesses and go on this journey. Just breaking down how you can accelerate your business…opportunities that I hadn’t even thought about”

Levi-Joel Tamou from Indigenous Futures Foundation said, “I like to say a big love to the Yarpa team and to the KPMG team today welcoming us in. We’re really blessed to be here.

It’s a wonderful opportunity. Isn’t it a wonderful time to be a Blackfulla in this nation today? Our elders were talking about a time when they couldn’t vote. They had to get permission to move… But right now, my message to all young Blackfullas out there is we are in a time of unprecedented opportunity where whatever you want to do, whatever your dream is, whether you want to start your own business, become a lawyer, become a nurse whatever it is; we can do it. We can do it now, and you can take steps. So, chase your dream.”

Yarpa Director Westley Trist highlighted that the program is beneficial to Indigenous business owners from various industries.

“Businesses all run on the same principles. We’ve got to know the same thing, and we’ve got to understand how to get to our people, how to create a service offering or product that’s the next step ahead, and I think that’s the important thing about Yarpa Grow. It’s not just for one industry it can be participated in by a number of different industries.”
